Some of our best State Owned hunting property has been closed off for the same reasons down here in Florida.. Get out of city limits and I dont think you can find too many stop signs that arent full of holes. That and the Idiots that use the game preserves as a garbage dump.[:(]

We organize a few cleanups a year, because of these PIGS.
Still have two places that they are threatening to close. [:(!][:(!][:(!]

Over at our club range (a private club!) some of the plinking crowd does not pick up very well. So the word is out that we might only be able to shoot paper targets! Pretty drastic, so I'm doing a bit of cleaning-up of the plinking area on my own ... and it seems that the pigs are getting the message. Monkey see monkey do!

At our Club range which is also open to the public, the Range Officers see to it that the shooters all clean up their own messes.

I range officer at the trap range and I politely ask the shooters that let their hulls hit the ground to pick them em and deposit them in the buckets at each station. Same at the Skeet field, At the end of the day for those that arent picked up whe have a couple of little machines we push around that sweep up the hulls..[:p]

I live in SC and we HAD a nice range in hte national forest that was just closed Tuesday due to vandalism. Last time I was there I was telling a guy who I thought was shooting at the stop sign that if I caught him I would take his picture and give it to the ranger because the vandalism is going to get the range closed. Well sure enough the ranger got tired of cleaning up after all the pigs who leave the range a mess and shut it down. No I have only one place left to shoot anything over 25 yards! And it is another National Forest range under threat of closer. I wish I was retired I would volunteer to Range sit.
Why do people always seem to ruin things for those who use them correctly. I gues I could pay big bucks and join the local rifle club.
    Argh!
Where are you referring to? I shoot at candy branch in abbeville county. I hope it was not there. It is Nat. Forest

Know what you mean. We have a gravel pit we shoot in about five or six miles above the house. It's on private property, one of the big timber companies(Rayonier I think). Every time I go up there I'm surprised there hasn't been a gate installed and locked on the road.Pigs!!![V][V][V]

A few in Colorado have been shut down for the same reason.

It never ceases to amaze me how inconsiderate some people can be so they can have a few minutes of joy to ruin the joy others might have forever.

I've been to a few shooting sites that have also been close to being closed due to the messes they leave behind. Every time I shoot I usually will pick up way more then whats mine, and go out a couple of times a year to mainly clean up. Other shooters clean the shooting sites but we are few.
