What are you missing?

Everyone has a gun that they don't have, but still desire to get ahold of. Perhaps some safe queen that the owner has no desire to keep any longer.
My current want is a Naval Luger.

    G.I. M-1 carbine. Had one and sold it when the first baby came and money was tight. Sure do miss it.

    My first .22, a Remington Nylon 76 (the 66 with a detachable mag). I bought it when I was 14, paid $55 for it...and, stupidly, traded it a year later for a Marlin bolt action.

    Yes, I could get another one...I see them all the time at shows, but...it's not the one I had.

    p3skyking - if'n you'll be OK wiht an Artillery Luger, there is one locally that was for sale as of last week, with extra mag and a drum mag.....

    I inherited the long model of M'89 danish made Krag Jorgensen in 8x58R-Danish.

    I just bought the short M'89 carbine model with 850 cartridges - all made in Denmark too.


    All I need now, is the M'89 Sniper model of the Krag Jorgensen - also in 8x58R-Danish.

    So I guess that's on my.. "To obtain" list.

    I need (ok, would like to have) a Win 61 for a a reasonable price to complete my modest pre-64 Win 22 collection. I could have picked up a mint 22 mag a couple of years ago that was in a local gunshop on consignment. I hesitated and about a week later it was gone.

    A better question is, what am I not missing?

    If I had the money I would need a large warehouse for all the guns (and ammo) I would want to buy.

    I have always wanted a Borchardt pistol. I have not found one at a price I can afford. I saw one for $6500 about 20 years ago.

    I've always said that if I had a square mile of warehouse space it would be filled pretty quickly.

    But if I had it I really don't know what I'd do with it ... shoot it every couple years ... maybe. At least its a good investment.

    I've got quite a few guns now that I don't shoot, just for lack of time ... or when I have the time there is something else I'd rather shoot ... or I know I won't have time to clean them all or ...

    That's the one thing that made selling off about 30 guns easy when I decided to buy the the red car ... I focused on what I would enjoy more.
