dang spryor, your an operator too[?]
I guess, kinda. Ran quite an assortment of equip while at the mines and smelter, and had my own track loader when building this house. At the mines ran everything from bobcats to mongo loaders...even a small locomotive underground on occasion.lol

Mostly lead/copper/zinc concentrates, and some ore.

    Lead mine/mill/smelter, btw.

Loaded dump trucks as a contractor the last 7yrs. though, and had to laugh when i saw you recommend driving a dump to someone recently. Thinking i didn't know which i liked least...dump trucks, or dump truck drivers.[;)]

I, and the drivers worked almost 24/7 so tempers often flared.
Coleman Trucking, i'm sure you've probably dealt with them.[8D]

Didn't mean to highjack the thread though.

You are not hijacking the thread

To really dislike truck drivers all one has to do is be around them after the 3 years I worked in an asphalt plant I really learned to hate dump truck drivers

Well, the fault was likely as much mine as their's. I was in the loadout area all day/every day, and likely leaded as all getout, and being leaded can play heck on one's tolerance level.lol

Was owned by Joe Coleman. iirc Just went by coleman trucking.

Almost always truck and pup, or long bed dums, but i'm sure they'd run singles on some jobs around the city..

what really gets me p.o'd is when you have 10 trucks on you with a quarter mile haul and your loading with a trackhoe with dozers pushing to you, you can't move and are steady dipping and loading and they can't back in the same spot twice, i get pissed and PAINT them a line, then they get pissed and it turns to a dancin lesson [:D][:D]. after their lesson if they still come in cattywhompus i'll knock their friggin boards off[:(!][:D][:D][:D]

Hahaaaaa: closest i ever came to scuffle on the job was by bending a guys bows. I'd told the divers Many Many times to remove their tarp bows, even posted a sign by the scales they had to punch in on before entering the property.
The loader i had at that particular location was to small to see or avoid their bows, so i'd just go about my job and bend em, if they left em in.
One driver got up in my face screaming, and asked me if i wanted to get down and roll around in the floor for awhile. I told em, if we go down, only one of us gonna get back up. I didn't play that game like the drivers did. They'd fight amongst themselves, and be best buds before nightfall.lol

I like to get their attention with a good hard bounce or three like taking a 980 and slamming a bucket of mud in an empty truck when they quit bouncing around in the cab I explain to them how to put the truck were I want it[:D][}:)][;)]

Thats why I hate loading trucks. The highway trucks that don't get in the right spot get loaded heavy on one side or if I got a cat 375 or something that big give them a high drop, shake them up to get their attention. Off road trucks I just drop the bucket in the box and slide, push, or pull them where I want them. Fun time ha ha

Had to load trucks with a 700 Kamatsu talk about he!! 3 inches clearence on each side of the bucket no way to be easy the drivers just got out and stood and waited.

But I did enjoy the few that stayed in the truck[:D]
