What Daddy brought home from Germany
My Dad (God rest his soul) served in Germany in WWII and, after the end, spent some time in Nurnberg during the war trials. Anyway, upon returning home he brought with him a few souvenirs (I assume GI's could, back then, return with a few items). One was a mantel clock made in Austria---totally destroyed in a 1952 tornado (Lord, what it would be worth today). One was a bronze medallion, dated 1945, inscribed Nurnberg on one side and Bavaria on the other. Last, but not least, was a 25cal-auto-"Duo". Unfortunately, Dad died (50yo) in 1966 and I never had the opportunity to ask him the thousands of questions that I have.

The little Czech made DUO's are well made weapons. A prewar design, after the occupation, the Germans allowed their continued production to arm civilian Czechs and Germans working for them in the occupied territory. 0 -
My grandfather was an infantryman in North Africa, Sicily, and Italy. We he was shipped home (due to wounds) in '43 he had a duffle bag full of Lugers, 98Ks, ect.....
