Anyone In Long Beach, California?
I guess I worry too much. Son Mark went to Long Beach to take a job with Toyota. I tried to tell him to not take off and drive out there on the basis of a phone call, but he did, and the job offer has been withdrawn.
So, now he is jobless, homeless, and nearly broke. At 23, he is 10 feet tall and bulletproof, and driving cross-country with nearly no money and no place to stay when he gets there is no big deal to him.
Anyone know of any jobs in the area? He can weld a little, and has worked as a welder's helper.
Don't suggest that he come back "home." He won't do that. It has been his dream to go to California, and he is there, so he won't leave until he makes it big in the music business.

Sorry to hear about that. I'll ask around, but unfortunately the side of my family in California are all lawyers or businessmen. [V] 0 -

This sounds exactly like the last two or three of your posts about this boy. I live about an hour to the south in Newport Beach and it should not be too hard for Mark to find some sort of work in the SoCal area. Many businesses here are looking for people to fill service jobs and he can always hang out with the day laborers and his English skills should give him the edge over the other workers standing around in the parking lot at Home Depot. Even a job at Burger King would give him enough money to eat and put some gas into his car (where he'll likely be sleeping) and since the weather here is never too cold he won't freeze to death. If he brought his DJ gear with him it is not out of the question that he could earn some real money working parties.0 -

Hit the ship yards! that is going to be his best bet in that area. Stainless steel and Alum., Are going to be the forte, and most of it is TiG weld prep as a helper.
Messy, Dirty, and very hard-0
