I would do a model 7 with a 33mm leupold
or that kimber0 -
Anything but a Browning BLR. 0 -
I have a Browning Lever Mod 81 in that caliber. Personally I think it is a superb hunting gun. 0 -
Savage makes an excellent and extremely accurate out of the box rifle. Less than the Remington or Winchesters and definitely less than the Sakos.

If I had the money, out of your choices, I'd have to try and get a Sako. Man are they sweet, accurate, super well made rifles. I'd top it with a Burris Signature and call it a day.

For that money, I would go with a Sako or Kimber. However, you could also buy a Tikka (made by Sako) and then spend the rest on good optics. Most of the rifles made today will shoot better than you are able to. Also, the better the optics, the better you will perform. 0 -
Thanks to all of you for your answers. Its guys like you that makes our lives better!!!! 0 -

savage model 14 one accurate rifle out of the box.the best factory trigger around.i used to be a remmy guy compare the 14 with the model 700 the money you save could be spent on scope or reloading equipment. as the saying goes like what you get and get what you like. good luck. 0 -
look at a TC Encore and they you can have both 7mm-08 and 308 both with good scopes and still under budget 0 -

I have a stainless/synthetic Remington model 7.
If you want blue steel/walnut, I think I would suggest the Kimber.0 -
I would opt for a remington Model seven, in your price range a nice package would be a SS synthetic model seven with a leupold VX III 2.5-8x36mm and that would keep you around $1100 0 -
THANKS FOR THE ADVICE GUYS ! 0 -
Rem 700 or Savage 112 in 7mm-08, both will serve you well. It's a real nice round! 0
