Thinking about a 17 mach 2

    Mach II's aren't selling.
Get a 17 HMR, the 17 Mach II's will soon be obsolete.
Talk to a few dealers, they will tell you the same thing I'm telling you.

I have one of these that I never even unwrapped the bolt for sale.
I'll probably keep it as a collectible since they no longer make them.
I tried for 4 months to sell it.

RN that is the gun I am looking at. Like I said I don't really need it but the price is fair. I was looking into the HMR rifles but when I found I could shoot my handloaded Noslers out of my .223 for less money I never gave them a second thought.

I am aware of what ammo shortages could be that is why I would buy 5k with the gun. Like I said the combined price for gun and ammo is about $800.

So far it sounds like I might be better off spending that money elsewhere.

Look into a 17 Mach IV. A much better round. They are .221 fireball cases necked down to .17. I have a custom built bull barreled Remington 700 in Mach IV. A super rifle. RCBS makes dies for it. Just a thought for you to think about.

The 17 mach 2 is a great little round, it is very accurate and has explosive performance. But it is not selling and ammo is getting harder to find, it'll soon disapear and the rifles will be rechambered in 22LR.

That is not a bad idea. I could get this gun and then if I wanted to or later needed to buy a .22lr bbl for it.

My gun shop has one in stock- 4000fps!
Stick with the HMR, better of the 2 rounds.
    Just my 2 cents.
