Argument(somewhat)

I was at my favorite gun shop, just hangin around bothering mark(the owner) and this old guy came in (60-70 years old). Im showing my friend who just got into rifles the mosin nagants, the mausers, the lee enfields and i was telling him how with a scope they can all be effective sniper rifles. Well the old guy must have been eavesdropping and he starts out on this rant about how russian women where the best snipers in the world. (not wanting to argue with him i left letting him think i had agreed with him, he tried so hard to convince me!) But what do you guys think who were the best snipers in WWII?

    also, it wasnt so much the fact that i think hes wrong its just he went on for about 10-12 minutes about it. and i wasnt disagreeing with him at all. -dave

    Some of the highest scoring snipers of WWII were Russian women....

    Lower heart rate, lower breathing rate, higher flexibility.....women have some distinct advantages in precision shooting

    There was a story about this on the history channel. It was incredible the amount of kills Russian women had.

    yea, that came out wrong. I didnt mean i thought he was wrong he was just trying to shove his opinion down my throat. And whether your right or wrong thats not the way to get some one to agree with you. I saw the thing on the history channel about the russian women snipers. I know they were good...

    Old guy, huh? I got BOOTS older than you- and THEY are in good shape![:p] Just kidding- and some folks think I've been around since Col. Sanders was a Private. Yes, the Russians DID have some very good women snipers. FWIW- average woman has better fine movement control than average man. Sniper also needs ability to camoflague self, and STAY STILL. However, run a Google search for Simo Hayha. Simo was a Finn. Used a 91/30. Over 500 kills. As far as the old gent rambling on, well, some folks get lonely, and want to talk.
