They all go bang, but what is your favorite other sound. I like the 4 clicks of a true revolver cocking. You?

I always found comfort in the sound of an M-16/AR-15 bolt closing...

Either the classic racking of a shotgun, or when I chamber the 1st round in my p226.

Racking the slide on my 1911 is a sound I'll never get tired of. However, my favorite sound is listening the the report of a rifle from a long ways off and hearing that 'whump' that goes with it when the bullet strikes home.

empty clip "clicking" out of M1, GAU-12 equalizer spinning up and down, racking the slide on Makarov, and of course as cartod mentioned -- revolver cocking :)

I always had a fondness for the sound made by an Auto-5 when the bolt release was pressed and the bolt slammed into battery.

My favorite sound is during silhouette shooting, not only the report of the pistol but the report back of the bullet striking steel.

    Bang...

hehe. i thought about putting that on except it sounds a bit like ricochets when you're being shot at -- can't really call that a favorite sound.

The sound from an m-1 carbine. Very unique.

The other would be the magazine "snap", and rack of the slide.

Or possibly when the m-1 garand kicks out that spent metal clip. Those who have used it know what I'm talking about. [;)]

I like the "Click"-sound from my Ansh?tz .22LR rifle firing a subsonic cartridge - followed by air escaping from my silencer...

All of the noises of a Garand, it's like angels singing. Also, the M1 Carbine, it's unique nothing else on the range sounds like it.

I like that sound of a pump shotgun cycling in that first round. The ending thunk as the shell is pushed home.

I like to hear a Western-style six-gun cocking, but I also like the click of a bolt action dropping into place.[:D][:D]

Feeding the last round from the magazine into the chamber of a Winchester 1895 produces a different sound than that of any other lever action rifle. It's one I remember from my childhood. And every once in a while when I'm at my Pop's house, I'll sneak upstairs, slide "Big Bertha" out of her resting spot and work that lever. Just once. Then I feel like a kid again.
