Baseball cards etc. value

Hello again folks
before my son was
killed I was given
a large suitcase
full of baseball
cards figured he
and i would sell
them one day...

They may still
be at the x wife's
house.They,as i remember
Top & Upper Deck 1000
card boxes with 1991-
93 on each box in sharpie.

Then there's a photo
album with such things
as a Ken Griffey SR
rookie card.

Anybody here have any
idea what they could bee
worth?

    .218 as far as cards go from that time, upper deck are the most valuable. Look for your Ken G., Jr. rookies. Those are valuable.

    Complete "Factory" sets are also valuable.

    I really don't have an idea on the value, as I havn't collected cards since about '94.

    BeeKeep....I just bought a Beckett guide to establish a value on my collection. Stay tuned, I'm looking those up right now.

    Ok here we are...

    1991 Topps Set (792 cards total) - $25
    The 1991 Tiffany Set is worth $200
    1991 Topps Traded (132Cards) Set - $10
    Tiffany Traded is worth 150

    1991 U/D (800cards) - $20
    There are smaller sets along with this one.

    1992 Topps Set (792cards) - $25

    1992 U/D (800cards) - $25

    1993 Topps - consist of 2 series; #1 with 396 cards, #2 with 429 cards. Each series is worth $25.

    1993 U/D (840 cards) - $50

    My advice is to hold onto these for another 10-15yrs.

    In ten years they will double in value, in 15 they'll be worth 10 times what they are now.

    Pass them on to the next generation and they will be worth thousands.

    1967 Topps set of 609 cars is worth $5000.

    Topps Sets from the 50's are worth 15,000-65k.

    Passing it on is the only way the really get your money's worth. I remember being a kid in the 90's and seeing the sets selling for $100. Now they are worth $25???? Give them some time. Cards aren't worth what they used to be worth.

    Is it Griffey Sr's RC or Jr's RC?

    Senior's RC will fetch $12

    If you haven't colected since 1994, you're going to be very disillusioned as to the value of baseball cards in today's world. I ended up donating 12,000 of them to the YMCA and deducting 10 cents each from my taxes ($1,200) with a receipt from the "Y". I never could have sold them for that. The market got glutted with so many sets, subsets, holograms, special inserts, etc. that people got disgusted with them. You rarely even see a card show anymore. Cards that sold for $20 ten years ago are bringing less than a buck. As D@D suggested, do a search on fleabay and you'll see what they're really bringing.

    Spider is dead on in that statement. My friends and I had fun growing up, riding our bikes to the card shop all the time, in the late 80s, early 90s. It was a pretty cool hobby back then. We'd dream of buying that hundred dollar card. lol The special cards were actually 'special' and valuable because they were rare. Then a few years ago, another friend of mine and I got back into the hobby a little, cruising around on ebay, and bought some of the pricier cards. It was still early on in the big 'change'. Had a lot of fun buying cards on ebay. Then we kind of gave it up about the same time.

    What's ended up happening now is, all these sets and cards from the early days, 40s, 50s, 60s are worth a lot of money now because there weren't as many made (only 2 or 3 companies) and so many got thrown away. That will never happen again. Now tons are made by so many companies and everybody saves everything thinking they'll be worth a fortune. It's too late now. The boat's sailed. The card companies got greedier and greedier. I picked up a new beckett a while back and had to laugh. You go back to the 70s, even the 80s, and you can have multiple lists of brand names and even different years on two pages. Now, one set from one year can take up multiple pages because of all the inserts and subsets involved. And there's way too many companies producing cards now.

    The only valuable ones really, are the rarest inserts you can find. Sometimes UD will cut out a Babe Ruth signature from an old banking document and put it on a rare insert card and list it as 1 of 1. So it helps sell the packs. Or the autographed cards or the cards with pieces of game used bat, jersy, even dirt from the mound, built into the card. From all different eras. If they don't have any of the frills and rarity, you won't sell them. Oh yeah, if it's a great rookie card, it better be Beckett graded in stellar condition or you can forget about selling it.

    I bought a Sammy Sosa Leaf rookie, beckett graded for 80 bucks when he was in his prime. Great card. Then the big debacle with the corked bat happened and he started struggling. Probably couldn't sell the card for 20.00 now. Seems like everytime I invested in player cards, they'd screw up and the cards value would plummet.
    The other thing that sucks about it is the card shops WILL NOT buy ANYTHING back from you. Once you buy a card, they won't even give you half price to get it back. They will not buy anything and give you every excuse why this card or that card has something wrong with it so they can't buy it.
    It was fun as a kid but I think the hobby is going to die out soon because of the card companys' greed, the mass quantities produced every year now and players on HGH and steroids (read cheating) which decreases their card's values. Pretty sad. [V]

    as a baseball card collector/seller,ebay i.d. hof_kolector there is no worth in any of those cards,91/93 were bad years,only 93 card worth the $$$ is the upperdeck sp foilcard of derek jeter...the sr card would sell for a couple bucks...

    Put this case away for the right moment. If you have any grandkids or expecting some down the road, or even a good friends kids, these would make a Priceless treasure to the right one.

    and the oldtimers,
    this is good to see.

    I figured the market
    was flooded,as you
