: Really scary engineering. Redneck style
This lesson is on how not to do things seems to totally escape some people.
I'd love to see how the trip ended up but I feel confident he ended up in a ravine somewhere wondering why bad things seems to always happen to him.
He's hooked up and ready to fly!! It's amazing how the extra weight really smoothed out the ride in the truck.
He did have to air up the rear tires a bit (around 160 psi)

He added some heavy-duty chain for extra support on the tailgate (note that he used the "Heavy-Duty 'S' hooks to attach the chain)
He also paid-up for some BIG 5/16 sheetmetal screws to attach the frame to the tailgate.
Yeah, he knows it's overkill, but he didn't want the possibility of having an accident.

Much of his time was spent on his front porch whittling down that MASSIVE 4x4 board to fit precisely into the ball mount receiver.
Also note that he used a 14" piece of 1x4 to help distribute the load more evenly--"YOU CAN"T BE TOO SAFE, YOU KNOW!!". "
It cost a little more, but you just can't be too safe when pulling a trailer of this magnitude !!".
Look out Utah , here he comes !!!!

What a Tra-La-La-Goon-De-Ay! 0 -
Wow... just... wow. He was pretty determined to go "RVing" come hell or high water. 0 -
Just loaded the trailer wrong.
...and his rear end is crying for mercy.....0 -
Nothing quite like those redneck Yankees that came down from New England way back with the Smith family. They are very ingenious, and could teach their southern kin a thing or two about safety! 0 -
People like this must be too stupid to breathe.

i don't have the picture but in an email i received not long ago there was a guy that took his Jetta to Home Depot (maybe it was lowes) and loaded it up to the point that the tires blew, the shocks game through the floor and whatever else. to paint the picture thin of a Jetta with i think it was 7 bags of cement in the back seat, 20 or so 2x4s and other lumber and 25 or so sheets of plywood and i think maybe some sheet rock(sorry i forget the details) strapped sown on the roof and trunk (angled front to back like this \) i guess the store made him sign a waiver befroe loading.
how does bill engval say it .....
here's your sign....
