Is There 7.62X54 Non Corrosive ammo?
I always thought the 762X54 was all corrosive and I see SOG advertising Czech Silver tip ammo as non corrosive. 88.00 for 880 rounds.

must be new. I would not bet my life on it not being a little corrisive though, but i would shoot the heck outta it! 0 -
That is what I've been shooting. I am not sure how corrosive it is but it does shoot good. 0 -
They state that it is 1960s through 1980s production. 0 -

That is what I've been told too.
Here are some pics of the stuff.

Are you talking about Surplus ammo?
I don't think there is much non corrosive surplus ammo avail.
Wolf
Privi-partisan
and Olympic all make non corrosive factory ammo.0 -
I think I'll order some tomorrow. 0 -
My guess is that it is corrosive, nothing wrong with that. The thing to do here is treat your rifle like it is corrosive ammo, then all is OK. There is quite a bit of commercial 7.62X54R that IS non corrosive, though not at the bargain prices of the corrosive milsurp. 0 -

Yeah its Czech surplus and I was under the assumption it was all corrosive too, but SOG states that it is non corrosive?0 -
Bought some Brown Bear a little while ago, non-corrosive. 0 -
Companies have been known to lie, and to call corrosive ammo non corrosive. 0 -

SOG is LYING. All soviet ammo is corrosive, without exception. Czech, romanian, bulgarian, russian, it doesn't matter - it is all corrosive. SOG should know better.0 -
Doesnt S&B make 7.62x54r? 0 -
I just picked up 12 cases, of the 780rd cans (9360 rds) of that stuff from Century Arms. It does not say what year it is, but it does say it is corsive http://www.centuryarms.biz/proddetail.asp?prod=AM040B . I have not got it yet, and it will be a while before I can test it.
I picked this ammo up since others have said it shoots well out of the PSL, which I just got. I went with Century since it is free shipping on $500 orders.0 -
Thank for the Tip Nwcid [8D] 0 -
What gun will you be using it with?
Century also said normal shipping is flat rate at $12 so even if you are single case might not come out too bad. I am not sure if that is for eveyone or not, I have my C&R with them.0 -

I will be shooting it from A mosin Nagant 91/30.
I buy a lot of stuff from Century so I too like their free shipping.
I havn't bought anything from SOG in a year or so and when their flyer arrived in the mail today I just thought they had a good price on thier ammo.
I will ask them if they ship for free before I place my order. If not I will get it from Century.
I bought a pallet of South African 308 from AIM once and they killed me on the frieght charge.0 -
Yeah I was going to buy a couple cases of .308 from Aim this fall when it was still $175/k but shipping was about $40/case [V]. With the price now I wish I still would have.
I was going to order from SOG a while back but the PSL I wanted they had been taking back orders for months with unknown delivery. I lucked out and found one local for about the same price.
Since we are talking about ammo and AIM someone said the Aquila Subsonic works very well. I have been shooting the Remington stuff (shoots well for me) but it is up to $24/500 OTD, use to be about half that a year ago. I see AIM has the Aquila stuff for about $13/500 but I am sure shipping will be a killer. Do you know anyone closer to us that has this stuff?0 -
If I remember correctly 7.62X54r brass is made by Lapua. 0
