Alabama Gator

Tccox sent me this and I wanted to share it with you GB'ers



This picture was taken by a KTBS helicopter flying over Lake Wiess about 90 miles north of Birmingham, Alabama!

That has to be a HUGE gator to have a whole deer in its mouth!

Are you ready to go skiing on Lake Wiess ?

If you ski at the west end of the lake -- try not to fall.

This alligator was found between Centre and Leesburg , Alabama near a house! Game wardens were forced to shoot the alligator - guess he wouldn't cooperate...

Anita and Charlie Rogers could hear the bellowing in the night. Their neighbors had been telling them that they had seen a mammoth alligator in the waterway that runs behind their house, but they dismissed the stories as exaggerations.

"I didn't believe it," Charles Rogers said, but they realized the stories were, if anything, understated.

Alabama Parks and Wildlife game wardens had to shoot the beast. Joe Goff, 6'5" tall, a game warden, walks past the 23-foot , 1-inch alligator he shot and killed in their back yard.

    Saw the pic of it up in the lake near Conroe Texas last time. Where ever it's from it's a hell of a gator.

    tv and radio stations east of the Mississippi river call signs begin with W like WBRC in Birmingham, those west of the Mississippi start with K like KTLA in LA.
    first time i saw the picture it was in Fla, then La, then Texas and now Al. that gator really gets around. I don't dought the picture or story just the location.

    13' alligator.

    If the Warden really is 6'5" he's in mid stride making him look shorter. As is it, there is no way the alligator is 3+ times his height.

    Cubs, you got it!! I should havd snoped it first but I got it from a RELIABLE source. Snopes confirms it is only 12-13 foot. However, that is probably enough to keep me out of the water! Jason, thanks for posting this for me and I will verify all facts before I impose on you again. Tom

    The dead giveaway is the Spanish Moss in the trees. I really dont think it grows in North Alabama [:D]

    good eye, Zebra. [:D]

    Come to think of it, Zebra, spanish moss might well grow pretty far north in Alabama. It's in north Louisian and north Mississippi. Good eye, anyway! [:)]
