Yep, we put him on a plane, and he is now being processed out. He gave us no problems.

While in Viet Nam a member of my company was given a temporary duty assignment. At about the same time he lost his wallet/ID/information(don't know exact details). The army messed up and forgot about him being on temporary duty. Some Vietmanese, VC or otherwise got a hold of his ID. The army had him as missing and his family was notified. He had returned back to the unit and his TDS cleared up his being listed as missing. Before his family were notified the VC et al wrote his family, said he was a prisoner, and were asking his family for $10,000 not to kill him.

At Ft. Sam Houston three medics forged orders to somewhere. They cleared the base except for finance. They collected their pay each month and lived in San Antonio. One of them didn't budget his money and decided to save a few dollars by eating at the mess hall. He was caught. The result was a stand down. The result of the stand down was the three were caught.

I can see the army making a mistake.
