Dog food
There was this man, who was a heavy drinker, He came home one night drunker than all get out, He was hungry, so went to the Fridge to find something to eat.
In the fridge was a bowl of meat, so he took it out and ate it all.
The next morning, he told his wife, that was some pretty good meat in the fridge, I ate it all.
His wife became a little shaken, exclaming "That was a Bowl of dog food" I had better call the doctor.
She called the doctor and he assured her, that nothing was wrong with it, and it wouldnt hurt her husband.
Two days later , very upset, she called the doctor, and ask him why he lied to her.
Doctor ask her what she meant, she said , "Well that dog food Killed my husband.
Doctor was shocked, he said it should not have had any adverse affects on humans", and what Happened?
The wife said, well it killed him, He went out in the street laid down and was licking his Butt when that car Hit him.

I finally got a dog and have been feeding Diamond Adult. Looking at various brands ingredients and feeding rates. I still have no clue as to why other brands cost more.
They all use almost exactly the same stuff; yet claim to somehow be better. Superior grains what's that supposed to mean.
The farm store carries various brands of dog food, but the rest are similar to diamond and cost quite a bit more.
What is everyone else using?0 -
I need some advice on what is a good dog food for putting weight on a older dog. I keep my dogs food bowl full and she won't keep a good weight. She always a bit on the skinny side. I used to feed my Brittany Diamond dog food and it worked great, but I can't find any around where I live. 0 -
Does anyone feed their best buddy, blue buffalo? I have heard it suppose to be good, my buddy has seizers and was told it may help 0 -

Purina Dog Chow.
Many dog foods are blended for certain problems, dietary health, weight loss/control/gain, etc.....
Puppy chow is another way to go, made with a higher % of fats, will make for a shinier coat, tastier, and will add weight.0 -
Eukanuba
highly recommended by our vet. Our Schnauzer has had nothing but Eukanuba since he was 8 weeks old. And you can't buy it at Walmart!0 -
I think that I read earlier this week that feeding them cats will keep them healthy and happy. [:D] 0 -
What do you mean by a good weight? We fed our dogs pedigree dry, like you we always kept food in the bowel and they were skinny, but in good health. They were both over 15 yr.s when they died. If your Dr. says its too skinny try mixing half a can of wet in, or bacon grease, to give it a little more taste. Or you can start feeding it table scraps. If she has stoped eating as much as usual, maybe her teeth are hurting. Good luck. 0 -
I used to feed my dogs Pedigree dry dog food exclusively. I thought this was a really good product and all my dogs loved it. Then, my vet told me it was a bad dog food. Made them lose hair, gave them emotional highs and lows, etc.
She recommended Natural Choice, Controlled Growth Formula.

Anyway, I'm not pushing this because my dogs haven't been on it too long for me to form an opinion. Just putting it out there for your information. [:)][:)]

I feel she isn't as filled out as a Rotty should be. It really irritates me that I can see her backbone outline sorta. If she were a hunting dog I would say she was a good weight, however I think Rottys need more meat on them. She has always been one of my skinnier Rottys though.
I have tried to wet dog food mixed in and she eats it down at first, but then she gets used to it and goes back to her old habits. Then when I take her off it she won't eat. So I'd rather not get her into wet dog food. I do give her bacon grease though when we eat it.

It is easy for dogs to get worms. It may be time to worm her. 0
