Closed eBay account

If you have closed your eBay account did you check to see that it is REALLY closed? EBay has a habit of coming up with reasons the account is not closed. If you have a active account and think it is closed and someone gets into it and scams a bunch of people it could become a big problem for you the user of record. A scammer would love to get into a account with plenty of positive feedback and little chance of detection by the user. If you have closed your account lately please post if it is closed or still active. I would like to know if eBay is still up to their old tricks.
