Thanks. The heart really exploded, with blood shooting out both holes. Didn't have enough paper towels with us to clean it up for the pics. The 44's did their job. Walleye and the salmon steaks sound really good also!0 -

.44 Ruger #3 ?
That is correct. Got it at an auction a couple of years ago for $325. Very accurate. They also had a #1 that I wanted but it was in .458. Didn't know what the heck I would do with it besides putting in the safe. It was a good deal at $500 but I'd already bought the #3 and was a little short on funds after that.0 -

Chief...I hear conflicting reports, how does the meat taste? How do you prepare it? 0 -
The sausage is good but a little greasy. This is only the second time that I will eat some of the steaks. The first ones were a little tough but the wife cooked them.[:D] Since it's @15 degrees outside, I'm going to oven fry these and see how it goes. Will let you know either tonight or tomorrow how they went. 0 -
Sidearm a Ruger .44 also? That carbine is a nice rifle and not an easy find. 0 -

Close, but it is a .41 Blackhawk. An old friend of the family made the holster for me. It carries good and also works good in the tree stand. As for the rifle, I am very happy with it. Just wish I could use it here in Illini land for deer.0 -
Great shot and a beautiful picture fit for the den......congratulations!! [:D][:D][^][^]

Well the results are in. I oven fried it with a coating and it was tough but it had a real good flavor. I don't know if it is because it is wild or if it's because the chops were 1 1/2" thick but it was tough none the less. But on a brighter note, Grandma's apple cake was still delicious.[:D]0 -

It was tough. Don't know if it was how they cut it or if it is just the nature of the beast.0
