    I asked this question in the fishing forum but I think that I will get more responce here. In the end of January I will be going down to CAbo san Lucas on a free trip from my company. There is a group of us that is interested in going deep sea fish but none have ever been and don't know where to start any help would be great.

    Sounds like what you want to do is charter a boat. If you are going in January you need to start now with the reservations. It may already be too late. Get on the phone and find out what is available, what they provide and what you need to bring. Most will provide everything but the beer.

    Contact your resort, and have them book you something.

    If they can't find anybody, approach a local, and be prepared for an "experience".

    I approached a local about spearfishing in Jamaica, and ended up in a wildlife refuge in the middle of the night with spearguns, and underwater spotlights...

    I also almost sank into the abyss that night do to faulty equipment.

    Don't forget to tip the first mate.
