Enchanted rock Texas
This was several years ago when I went there but I was very impressed. I have been around the world and have stood before the pyramids, seen the parthenon, and been in the colluseum in Rome. But when I rounded the road and saw the ROCK, I was impressed.
There is the story that a Texas Ranger stood off several hundred Indians because they believed the rock to be "enchanted" and would not go up and do whatever Indians do to Texas Rangers. Tom
PS. I am just looking up Texas . I am also trying to find out about the Long shot the Ranger made at Adobe Walls. He shot an Indian off his horse at 3/4 mile. The Indian was pointing at his butt, sort of telling the rangers to kiss his butt and one took a shot and nailed him. Needlesly to say, the Indians did not hang around long. Tom

That was Billy Dixon who made that shot at Adobe Walls. I don't think he was a ranger, but a buff'ler. 0 -
Not aware of the "Enchanted Rock" gunfight.
But if memory serves me Billy Dixon made the shot at
Adobe Walls and he was a buffalo hunter...with him
