Let's not forget that John Wayne was nothing but a Hollywood actor. An actor that did not serve in the military in WWII because it might hurt his movie career.

He may have been just another actor to you, but to some of us he was someone special. He visited the troops in VN, and had beer off loaded from his helicopter before leaving. In a world of Hollywood phonies, he was the real deal.

John Wayne Enterprises still supports The Special Forces Association with yearly donations.
