New Citizens Sworn

    I still remember going to the courthouse in Los Angeles and seeing my father take his oath of citizenship (my mother's English skills were more limited so it took her several extra months to pass the tests). Everyone sworn in received a small American flag and my father kept that flag for the rest of his life. After he died we placed that little flag in his jacket pocket when we buried him. Like most things in life something which is earned (like citizenship) is more appreciated than something simply given to you.

    Now these are true immigrants![:D] not the sneak in thieveing low life sending their money over the border, insisting WE change OUR ways for them, and claiming they have rights when they are ILLEGALLY here!

    Good for them. They worked hard for what they got and can hold their heads high as true Americans.

    It does my heart good to know that they worked for their citizenship.

    May they all have successful lives in our country.
