Beretta Tomcat Value ?
I currently have two Beretta Tomcats, one is stainless -- the other is shiny black. The stainless one is a wide body.
I am considering selling them here or trading them in on a Para Carry .45 if they will bring enough to get one.
I did a search and found the stainless Tomcats are bringing about $400.00 and the black ones are bringing $300 - $350.00.
Both pistols are in excellent shape; having fired only test rounds through them, I have the boxes and extra magazines, holsters -- and a new holster that Polite Psycho (Doc) gave me.
Can anyone tell me book value on them?

Just in a Scottsdale gun store today and a pristine blued 3032 Beretta Tomcat with two mags and the box and IB, USED, was tagged at $289. The Inox stainless steel model 3032 brand NEW was tagged at $429. 0 -
Their reputation for reliability and mechanical function is not so great... but I think in past couple of years, they've actually gone up in price. I like the fact that they are DA/SA with a manual safety, but I don't carry mine because the Kel Tec is smaller, lighter, and larger in caliber.
The MSRP on a new matte model is $350 But since you said "shiny black", you probably have a blued finish (which adds $25 value). The list for 98% condition is $225 For 95% condition it is $185
The MSRP on a new stainless is $450. $265 and $200 for 98% and 95% respectively.0 -

if selling here on GB, you could get almost face value, if you take them to a pawn shop, then take off around 100-150 face value, but hats is in the 90-95% range. 0 -
If not on GB, than the best thing to do would be to sell them at a gunshow (if legal). Because if you can beat a dealer's price on a used Tomcat, then a private citizen will likely buy from you (more money than trade in value). If you don't do a dealer transaction (which normally cost $20 to $40), make sure you copy down the all of the info from the buyer's drivers license... in case the ATF comes knocking at your door one day. 0 -
I really like the Tomcats, just thought it would be better to have a carry weapon that had more knockdown power.
I don't have a lot of extra money, so I have to sell one to get another. (In this case sell two).
My wife didn't renew her CCW permit, and I was just informed that she didn't want me to sell hers.......so the decision is made on the Tomcats, I'll just start saving for the Para Carry.

A .32 will work in most situations. It may not work as well or as quickly as a .45 if your shot placement is not on par, but it will work. Now if you have to shoot through a thick window, or into a fat assailant wearing heavy clothing, you may have a problem.
If you're going to carry a .32, I suggest loading FMJs 32 ACP is typically listed between 115 and 140 foot pounds from the muzzle... so you may run into some inadequate penetration issues under certain circumstances.
My Tomcat actually doesn't appear to be as accurate as my Kel Tec... even with a single action trigger pull. The gun sometimes turns in my hand (especially if my hand is at all sweaty, my finger will slip on the trigger). It has jammed a few times through the 500 rounds or so I have put through it. I also have an ongoing issue where the trigger pull will not reset if the hammer falls on a snap cap or empty chamber. But I'm not worried about it enough to ship it back to Beretta... as I think the likelyhood of a misfire is slim.
I have it as a "backup" If my Kel Tec ever gets stolen, destroyed, or taken by the cops after a self defense shooting, I'll immediately switch to the Tomcat. Aside from the action style and safety switch, the extra round in the magazine and the tilt up barrel are nice.0 -
I keep ours loaded with CorBon ammo.
Neither one of ours has ever slipped in my large hands, and both have been pretty accurate when test fired on the range. Prior to these we had AMT DAO's in .380 -- and I wasn't impressed with their accuracy, lack of safety & extremely long trigger pull. (I realize it was so long because it didn't have a safety).
