The Drudge article says that they were here legally, just that they told conflicting stories.

By the end of this month NO ONE is getting back into the USA without a passport. I feel so much safer now that I'll have to show my passport to a Customs officer after coming back from an afternoon of shopping in TJ or Ensenada or a few days visiting friends in Vancouver BC.

I presume they are going to Cuba by way of Mexico. I hope they bring some tequila back with them.

Getting a passport is going to cost everyone about $100 (processing the forms, photos and a certified copy of your birth certificate). We have people here who cry like babies and post within minutes when the price of gasoline goes up two-cents so where are they going to come up with $100? Restrictions on (or making) travel more difficult is just another step in a direction that I would have hoped this country would never be headed. I hope that when the folks in DC say next that we will need passports or police permission to travel around the fifty states (it is for security purposes after all) some folks pull their heads out of their collective (you know what) and start shouting that we don't need to be fenced in and herded around like so many cattle. I fear that history is going to show that the first decade of the twenty-first century was marked be a slow, but steady decline in our rights as individuals and the start of the practice of "grouping" us all together, restricting and monitoring our movements, for security purposes of course. I for one do not need a government baby sitter...Because I AM AN AMERICAN!

They're probably already in Miami meeting with the American Snivel Liberties Union and filing lawsuits to have the poor profiled peaceful muslims released and their explosives and plutonium returned to them.

Actually the latest update is that the men are all LEGAL immigrants and the whole incident was a false alarm, stemming from a miscommunication with the port authorities due to the language barrier. No charges are expected to be filed.

.. .stemming from a miscommunication with the port authorities due to the language barrier.

Then it their own fault for arriving here and not being able to speak perfect English. Once again, the Gun Broker Gripe Group scores with their dogma.

Cartod: You need to learn how to read. Your thread title is grossly in error. The article clearly says, "The men in the truck -- who are lawful permanent U.S. residents -- speak "some English," she said."

What part of LAWFUL PERMANENT U.S. RESIDENTS do you fail to understand? Duh

A man of your stature should just have an rfid implanted, and walk by all the burger flippers who are showing their papers to the man.

Yeah, Hairy, they speak enough English to file a lawsuit mandating you be ordered to wear split crotch panties 24/7 and pursue it all the way to the supreme court. Meanwhile 100,000 of your brown friends are crossing the border every day.

At that rate Mexico (with a population of approx. 110 million) should totally be depopulated in about three years. I hope the Mexician Tourist Agency thinks ahead, imports and then leaves behind some Chinese workers to take care of my time-shares in Mazatlan and Acapulco!

Never will forget what my neighbor used to say to the mexicans that worked on his landscaping, etc. : "speak english -- you get paid in US dollars, not pesos!"
