My GPS saved me the trouble of sitting in traffic because of a bad accident. It's such a useful little tool, I am very glad it's there, and I have one. [:D]

SCOTUS decided; you need a warrant to place on a vehicle.

No luck on those forums. Don't ever buy a Magellan, their support sucks!

With GPS the Government knows exactly where you are...that scares me!

Everyone seems to know where I am. Even at the mall, the directory says "You are here". There's no escape. [:(]

Try going to the system setup menu and look at the UNITS or Coordinate System options; I'm pretty sure you can change from address only to Transverse Mercator or WGS84, since that's what the machine gets from the satellites and processes into addresses.
WGS 84 stands for the World Geodetic Reference System of 1984, but if all you are interested in is lat/lon; that's all it is.
There's a newer reference system out there called GEOID03, which outputs in WGS84-type lat/lon units and is a little tighter on elevations, since it's the "new" mathematical model of our Earth's surface.

    Shoulda gotta Garmin.....

GPS systems are great when you've found a good fishing spot on the lake -- you can always go right back to it.
