Bosch Tools - Another Question?
Bosch is the largest tool maker in the world now. They have sales of over one billion annually! Thats a ton of bucks! Over 4,000 employees world wide.
They own Skil, Demrel and RotoZip among others.
Why then, if they are so big, don't you see their Bosch Labeled equipment on Job Sites????

No, unfortunatly, Milwaukee Tool was bought by a Hong Kong based concern. Bosch is still based in Germany.
A lot of Milwaukee's tool that were made in the USA were made in the SOuth, IIRC, I want to say Alabama or Missisippi. The Brookfield, Wisconsin plant was mostly the corporate headquarters, although I think they made some tools there.

Sig..Bosch tools cost a lot more than the others. Look on the label on bosch pieces, says made in Switzerland. all the others arent. I have bosch cordless drills, sawzall, hammer drill, etc, is all i use on the job, but believe me, i keep an eye on them. if i need to loan one out, i loan my skil, dewalt, b and d, so on... 0 -
I did a stint as parts guy at a Bosch dealership. Bosch ain't nothing to sneeze at... they make everything from spare washers to $600 drill bits!!
their drill motors aren't quite as good as milwaulkee, but other stuff such as electric air compression jackhammer motors are cuz the other guys don't sell many of those kinds of things, bosch has the market on those. I think bosch must be very big in europe.
lemme give you a hint... they sell reconditioned equipment. when those were sold out, they needed mroe to put on the shelf. what did they do? cannibalize brand new equipment. at what, half price or so. they weren't telling anbybody.

Everybody has their niche in the tool business. I have Hilti rotohammers, Milwaukee sawsall, portaband, mag drill, and Bosch saws and jigsaws.
Some companies make a good tool and some make a great one, but nobody makes all of them perfect.0 -

Depending on the tool, the BEST one might be a Bosch, or a Makita, or a DeWalt, or a Skil, or a Milwaukee, or .................0 -
I bought a 5 HP Milwaukee metal chop saw last year, and have cut 1/2" bar stock with it -- it didn't even grunt! The saw is made in China --but carrries a 5 year warranty.
I've noticed lately that more stuff by maor brands are made in China. My 4" Makita grinder was made in China, not Japan. I also bought a 9000 lb. Warn winch, which was advertised as "made in USA". Almost hidden on the back of the motor is a sticker that reads: motor made in Brazil.
I expect that stuff on cars, but didn't expect it on a Warn winch,0
