Gun Show yesterday
Seeing MT's thread about Pawn Shops made me think about a couple of things that I saw yesterday. You see folks like this everyday, so it does not surprise any of us, but I just can't stand a few types of folks.
I was helping my brother yesterday who is a dealer. I can't stand the folks that come up to the table and say, "Well, I can get it over there for such and such a price." Thanks to some of your comments, I was ready for them. I told them, "If you can't get it for that, then why are you standing here, lets go over there and get two of them."
Another one that I feel sorry for is the guy that carries four or five guns with him, and even has his kid carrying around something to sell. One guy had an 870 yesterday with a bunch of cheaper ATI upgrades and he wanted retail for all the stuff that he had put on his express shotgun. $200 shotgun, with $300 worth of upgrades does not make for a shotgun worth $500. I must have seen that guy 20 times yesterday walking around trying to sell his stuff.
I bought a Glock 36 yesterday, I wanted to get a fobus mag holder for it. I went to a distributor that carries all of Fobus' gear and I asked her if she had one. She told me, "Fobus does not make that." I just told her thank you and walked off. Guess she ought to check with Fobus, because they are all over the auction side. I just don't like dealing with folks that don't know what they are talking about. Not that I'm a genius, I would at least know everything about the products that I would be selling.
One guy asked me if I needed a holster for it and I told him that I was just going to use my Glock 22 / 23 holsters. I had one before and I knew that they would fit. He told me that I was wrong, that the guns were different sized and it would not fit. Good thing I knew better.
On the flip side, its always good to run into old friends. Make a couple of trades, buy this and that. It's overall a good time. I hope we can still have them this time next year.

Went to the AGCA gun show yesterday. Wasn't really looking for anything in particular. Found some parts I needed at a real good price. I do wish I had carried my camera with me though. On one table was a 12 ga. "trench gun", with a picatinny rail added on the side of the ,1917 type, bayonet adaptor. I wish now I had picked it up and looked at it. I just shook my head and walked on. 0 -

Yeah, they don't. But, if I could have gotten a pic. of a Model 12
Win. trench gun with a "tactical" picatinny rail added to the bayo. adaptor, wouldn't you have wanted to see it?[:D]0 -
