If he didn't allow a return during the 3 day inspection period the seller violated the terms of the sales contract and thus the contract is void. 0 -
You know, an unhappy buyer on ebay said such things about the seller and got sued for slander. The seller won in court and the griping buyer had to pay thousands of dollars. I would think twice about posting comments like the ones seen in this auction listing.
Besides, did he buy it without seeing photos?

Good reason to pay via the "escrow system". Only one snag, and it's a rather large snag. You have to get permission from the seller in order to pay via escrow. (I didn't make that up. Came from GB Holdings, Inc. via answer to a support issue). Best, Joe 0 -
Tough to know what's what in these situations. Seller says gun was new, buyer says it arrived messed up. I have to ask did it go to an FFL who opened it and had it for a while? maybe some butter-fingered store employee played with it and caused damage?
The lesson here is to take good photos from all angles to document condition at time of shipping.0 -

select-fire, you sound like a lot of fun. I have a friend thats always cracking pranks, so we sent a little back his way. Myself and another friend put an add in our local weekly trade sales paper. Remington Model 700 BDL 30-06 mint condition Nikon scope $250.00 firm. He got calls for weeks about the gun.[:D] 0 -
Let's think about this whole situation.
You are a potential buyer and have been looking for a pristine in original box Colt Python for a couple years.
You come across this auction for a LNIB Colt Python. The photo is dark and there is only one view but it looks OK from that view. You would like to see some more photos but there is the distinct possibility that someone else may snatch it up in the meantime.
The seller only has a few feedback but they are good and he offers a 3 day return privledge which is clearly listed at the top of the auction.
So you click on the buy-it-now button figuring if something is wrong when you get it, you just send it back and are only out the shipping both ways. You will have spent a few bucks but that is a small price to pay to get the LNIB Python you have been wanting for, for so long.
(I just recently did the same thing myself to get a 1911A1.)
Now, the gun arrives and your fears are realized. The gun is clearly not as advertised so you call the seller and tell him you want to send it back. He tells you to go piss up a rope.
Now in retrospect, you realize why the seller only took one picture, in a dark shaded area, of a very expensive gun, when gunbroker has a spot for 4 pictures. Now you also know why the seller wouldn't have wanted to show off the pristine condition of this collectible gun to get the most he could for it.
Now you don't have to be a rocket scientist to figure out who is trying to flim-flam who. I think it is painfully obvious.
And I think gunbroker needs to step up and go to bat for the purchaser.
I specifically don't check the box for the "gunbroker" 3-day return privlidge. I offer my own in my terms when I list an item and I will back it up if the gun hasn't been tampered with or damaged. BUT, if some buyer takes apart my NIB Colt Single Action Army, I sure as hell ain't gonna give him his money back.
I have had one buyer not happy with an old 16 SXS Baker and I promptly returned his money. He did what he was supposed to do and so did I. That is a representation of a man's character.
That is also why I sold some of my more common, less expensive guns here before I started to list my more expensive ones. I wanted potential buyers to know that I would act in good faith and I expect the same in return. That is also why I referred to my great feedback on my ebay auctions when I was new here. I wanted potential buyers to have confidence that they were dealing with a reputable seller.
I have 2 used Pythons listed here right now and I provided 4 photos and inform the potential buyers that I have more already taken and all they have to do is ask for them.
It sounds like this seller is one of the people I refer to in the bottom area of my terms when I list something to sell here. I don't know either of these guys but the seller had only a few feedback for PURCHASES that he made and in his first selling auction, he refuses to live up to the terms HE listed. (ADDED-also BUYER has 150+ positive feedback.)
