opinions on #4 vs 00 buck in 3"
I am wondering what peoples experiences have been with 3" #4 buckshot vs 3" 00 buck? My shots are in wooded areas, shots will be out to 60yds.

I would opt for OO Buck. Larger pellets that carry more energy downrange. Yes, there are less of them, but they penetrate better. 0 -
I used both for taking coyotes up close, 00 makes a mess. if saving the hide is what you are after use the #4's. 0 -
...What, no rifle or handgun deer hunting allowed where your at?
...00 will give you the real capability to hit, and kill out to 75 yards, #4 will not. 3" shell w/00 may give you a 100 yards, but Ive not patterend or checked 3" 00 for penitration at that distance...[;)]

No. 1 Buckshot ! [:D] 0 -
Use the 00. 0 -
Go with the 00. I have used both, #4 just doesn't work as well, especially if you are taking longer shots. Don't pay extra for copper plated, not worth the money. 0 -

right now it is shotgun season, although you can usse a handgun, I have not gotten my 44mag sighted in with new scope yet. No rifle allowed in DE, too small of a state.0 -
I will get some of the 3" 00buck...seems like the clear choice. Thanks guys. 0 -
i have used #4 buck #1, 00 buck and 000 buck. i promice you you will not be disapointed with 00,or 000 buck. # 4 is too small and #1 will kill a deer but you'll probally have to hunt for it. i prefer 000, kills em dead every time. 0 -
Can't use slugs? 0 -
When I use buckshot I use 00 unless I am walking them up at close range in thick cover. The #4 works better because of the number of shot. 0 -
use 00 if you are hunting in close quarters in the woods, use #4 when you are hunting some criter that came into your house 0 -
In my experience, 00 or No. 1 works better on deer. My old 870 Mag. patterns No. 1 great. I've also used 000 magnum. 0
