..Ive got that exact radio, Grundig? Works fine if you like to crank.
A "full" charge from cranking will run it for about half an hour.
...Put batteries in mine! It's been abused and missused for about 3 years now and works fine...[;)]

Any of you guys have hand crank radios in you emergency kits? Are these from Cabelas any good? They're about $40.

Yep! The shortwave side of this radio is also very good. My recommendation is to get 3 quality AAA NiMH rechargeable batteries to run in it as you primary battery pack. Mine will run almost 2 weeks of 24hr continuous use at low volume. The emergency lite will eat the built in battery pack in nothing flat.

Great little radio for the $$

I bought one at Radio Shack a coule of years ago. The band switch (Fm, Am, wx) is acting up. Sometimes get any band. Just static. Other than that it's been a good radio.

Grundig is not one of the cheaper brands as such..

Have had Grundig VCR's and such - it's always worked fine.

Never tried that radio-thingy there though. But would expect it to hold the same quality as the rest of the Grundig products.
