An American/Arabic translator that's currently in Iraq had this story....he went to a Iraqi's house with his team.....the home owner offered them water......the Americans didn't want to drink it but it is a big insult to refuse in Iraqi culture....to check themselves the American/Iraqi translator asked the home owner if the water was safe to drink....he said " I swear it is."
The American/arabic translator took the cup and took a sip and passed it around to the rest of the crew....after everyone drank the Iraqi asked for water.
Confused....the American translator asked why he wanted water when he just offered them water.....the Iraqi said..."they found a dead baby in our water supply".
I would have killed the man. The guy over there right now didn't.....Dumb ass.0 -
