Your fixation on bad cops is becoming very tiresome. What exactly is your point? That there are cops who make mistakes or are crooked? I think everyone is already aware that a certain percentage of the members of any profession are inept or unethical.
Last year I had a plumber try to sell me $3,000 worth of unnecessary work but you don't see me posting story after tiring story about bad plumbers.
Whatever has happened in your life to make you so angry and bitter towards cops, I suggest you build a bridge and get over it. It's not only unhealthy, it's getting rather boring.0 -
puberty.
Hey, Saxonpig, I'd like to say thanks for the image posting sticky. That wouldn't be a model 28 in the picture above would it?0 -

The Local PD here in Houston is missing a few dozen guns from the property room right now too, in fact the taxpayers are now building a new "more" $ecure facility because of the missing weapons. Only thing worse than corrupt officials are those who would sweep their crimes "under the rug". 0 -

So, we are mental midgets, are we? If we are so far beneath you, why do you waste your time and energy on us. Surely a mental midget is beyond help, even from someone as great as you.0 -

Your analogy doesn't work. You can run a POS plumber off. Unless you are willing to spring for coffee and donuts, you can't get rid of cops. [:p][8D]0 -

Are you one? I don't think so. I said any mental midget. I would first have to identify those I believed to be mental midgets. I didn't say all members were mental midgets although there are quite a few.See the difference?0 -
Colonel- The 28 was never made with a 5" barrel. Here are two clues that would be plenty for any true S&W aficionado to ID this classic revolver. The stocks date to c. 1955 and the chambers aren't recessed as can be seen by the space at the rear of the cylinder. One final clue; the bullets were round nose so the holes in the target don't necessarily reflect that actual diameter of the projectiles.
Different subject- I know cops and plumbers ain't exactly the same thing, but the point is the never ending critical posts. It doesn't matter who you are skewering, it just gets OLD after a while.0 -
...zombies, lap or don't lap, 9mm vs .45, illegals, Bush, Iraq..."bad" cops...a Brazillian([8D]) posts, and still going...[;)]

Hey, I'm still learnin' here.
Sooooooo
If the cylinders weren't recessed even in 1955, it could be because it uses a non-revolver-type cartridge....like....a 45 acp?
That'd make it a M-25 in 45acp?
Hey, I'm still pretty new at this.
If I'm right, than I'm still proud of myself for at least knowing an N-frame. Thanks for the clues[8D]0 -
Close. On S&W revolvers made prior to 1982 the 22s and the magnum calibers (357, 41 & 44) had the recessed chambers. The other calibers (such as 38, 44 Special, 45) did not.
S&W did make 45 caliber DA revolvers in the mid 1950s, but they weren't available with a 5" barrels. That barrel length has to make it a 44 Special. The gun pictured is a 4th Model Hand Ejector 44 Special Target (also called the Model of 1950). They made the same gun in 4" with fixed sights but it did not sell well and few were made making them very valuable now.0 -
I wanted a 5" 44 Target for about 30 years so when two were offered by a dealer 2 years ago I bagged them both. They came with their original Magna stocks but I swapped on the period correct targets.
We may be on to something, here. Whenever someone starts a topic designed to cause trouble lets just hi-jack it into an actual discussion on firearms.0 -
Thanks for the education.
Looks like I have some readin' to do.0 -
