    How does the action hold up? My garand doesn't like anything over 180 grains. Must have a vented gas plug.

    some years ago I bought (cheap) a m-1, nov.1941, dcm, all original... that some idiot just had to make into a .300 win. mag. he opened the bolt face and rechambered the original barrel. you could get 7 rds in a clip and it shot well (lots of recoil!). I fired two clips and tore it apart and convereted it back to /06.

    The gun dubbed the MMGS-WR-300 could be concealed under an overcoat for a close approach to a very dangerous subject, and a quick drop to one knee while angling the .300 Win. Mag. up would impart a great deal of stopping power.

    McCann Industries, is an interesting place where ideas fly around like metal shavings from one of the several lathes, grinders, CNCs or whatever. The "wrist rifle" is a "compact hunting rifle" with an overall length of 28.5 inches and combined weight of 7 pounds, 12 ounces - including 4x Leupold scope, three-round magazine (inside a pistol grip), bi-pod and sling! In the interest of judgment towards concealability, its height is 8.75 inches and width is 2.75 inches.

    The action is a forged Mauser bolt action with Beuler safety and the bolt knob and bolt stop (ejector housing) are both checkered. The trigger has an adjustable pull and it, along with its housing, follower and spring, trigger bar and tunnel, the action, barrel and magazine all remove as a modular unit. And, the barrel is ported and fluted.

    The stock, with pistol grip and thumbhole, is laminated hardwood, finished in camouflage with other options in stock material and finish - as well as options in major calibers.

    the MMGS-WR-300 idea has been done before, all but with smaller calibres.savage produced a similar type of firearm a few years back, but it is no longer listed on their site. anyway, i can not imagine firing a 300 win mag off my wrist? there has to be some way the thing mitigates the recoil.

    i do remember hearing kennedy assasination theories that state a gunman used a simmilar firearm. it was supposedly chambered in 221 fireball. . . . just an interesting tidbit on this style firearm

    did I miss the point of this post or was it about the .458 and .338 Garand rifles? Or, was it about the .300 Win mag pistol?.

    I think the .458 and .338 are good ideas if you get the gas system working properly. So, hold off on the BS flag. I'm not willing to permanently strain my wrist shooting a .300 Win mag out of a pistol though so throw that flag.

    Considering most Africian contries have laws agans hunting with a Semi-Auto action, whats your point, or are you hunting Buff at your local zoo?

    Both broke really quick!
