Had to dig through and find Adresses for my resideces in the last five years. That's what took me so long. I' ve had the appl. for about a month, just never got around to doing that. alot of the questions on it are the same ones you fill out when you go in and buy a firearm anyway.(guilty of felony, violent misdemaner, are you mentaly incompetent, etc) You have go online to the ATF's website and there is a link to forms to request. REquest the on for C&R and they will send it to you. fill it out and include payment of $30.00, send it to their office in Atlanta and take the 2nd copy to your chief law enforcement officer.

It took me about 18-20 days from the day I mailed mine. If you can check your bank acct. online watch for the check to clear. Mine was in the mailbox 5 days after my check cleared.

    Congratulations.
I've been considering applying for one myself but have balked at the notion of begging some government agency, that shouldn't even exist, for my constitutional rights.
Not to mention the fact that I hate to give the gov one more reason to crawl up my a$$ with a flashlight!

[:D]I agree with what you are saying there,But I feel we have to pick our battles. I just can't see payiyng a transfer fee everytime i want to buy a gun. This is last for 3 years and I can buy all the older guns I want for 30 bucks.

I don't know that the ATF would approve my application if I told them how I really feel about them in the letter.[:(!]

Took 26 days for me. The wait and cost are both totally worth it the first time you order from Midway or Brownells with your new discount. I am working on an 80% 1911 build and just ordered parts today. Total discount worked out to $278.53 for the Ed Brown/Wilson/STI parts plus a few tools I ordered.

    Awesome... [8D]

A Federal Firearms License for collectors of Curios & Relics.

They are allowed to purchase many firearms more than 50 years old and certain other firearms on a list directly instead of through a "for profit" FFL holder.

Finally got it filled out and sent in. Wish me luck. For those of you that have one, how long did it take for the ATFE to get back with you?

    Good luck to you!
I have had my application since Dec. and still have not filled it out yet. Did you have to send in a fingerprint card with it? My envelope had one in it.

No I didn't, at least I don't think so, there wasn't a kit with it.
the only other paper in the package was a paperwork reduction act notice.

When I ordered my app. from their site, I found this info. so I assumed that I had to send in the card.
Taken from ATF website:Instructions for 5310 series forms
Because of legal reasons, and the requirement of fingerprint cards and photographs, the Form 7 cannot be posted on our site. To receive the application, along with the proper fingerprint cards, either go to the Distribution Center Order Form or call the Distribution Center at (703) 455-7801 and a packet will be sent to you via U.S. mail. If you e-mail your request, please provide your complete name and address address, the type of license you wish to apply for and a packet will be sent to you via U.S. mail.

I got mine in about 3 to 4 weeks. It makes it soooo easy to get C&R eligible guns.
