High cap Mag sell to California LEO?
I'm in Alabama. Can I sell high cap mags to a California Federal Law Enforcement officer stationed in California with a photo-copy of his credentials?

Are you that despart to make a sale? 0 -
you also need a permission letter from his commander on department letterhead stating that it is ok for him to purchase a hi-cap 0 -
i would tell him no, why take a chance, and if they don't trust me with a high cap why should i trust them 0 -

Back during the ban, I sold a bunch of Hi-Caps. Almost every auction, I would get some guy from California emailing me about the
auction and trying to talk me into selling items to them that were not legal.
IMHO, a sale is not important enough to take any chances over. I told them no and even ban a couple from being able to bid on my auctions.0 -
William 81......... You did the right thing by not selling them without some documentation that they are in law enforcement.
MK19 is correct. They can be sold law enforcement in Cal if they provide a letter from their agency commander approving the deal and stating the mag is for duty purposes.0 -
I got a speeding ticket in CA from one of those automated systems, received a picture of my car and plate and a ticket in the mail saying please pay $129 for doing 34 in a 25mph zone. I sent them a pic of the $129! They send me a picture a few weeks later of handcuffs. I gave in and paid the SOB's because they said they would ruin my credit....
I would'nt sell squat to CA, let them suffer!0 -
Why does he need hi-cap mags? Didn't Cali gun laws make everything safer there?
I wouldn't sell them the sweat off my back... they enforce, in my opinion, some incredibly immoral and hypocritical laws against honest citizens while giving every illegal they can lay eyes on a free pass.0 -

Yup, what he said.
What they need hi cap mags for anyway? Citizens are all unarmed.0 -
What's so GD hard for them to go to Oregon, Arizona or any other border state and just buy one at a local gun shop. 0 -
I don't think we as sellers can be expected to keep up with the laws of each state. I think that if he buys things he cannot have.....its his problem and not mine to figure out. I would insist on sending them to an FFL just like he were buying a gun. This way he gets the mags if he can have them and if he is breaking the law....the people who actually live in that state can worry over it. Mags are not like a gun. We aren't dealing with anything that has serial numbers and logs to keep up with or paperwork that goes along with the transfer. I think of these things like I do low-flow toilets......water conservation is important....but so are other things. 0 -

Its a lot more economical and legal to have your boss sign a letter than it is to spend $100.00 on gas driving to another state to buy some mags.0
