Turn signals.
Has anyone but me noticed but me there is no driving manners anymore. No one uses their turn signal anymore its like I can change lanes at 80 mph on the interstate and you better get out of my way. And at the same time they are talking on their cell phone.

I think it is because nobody knows what that flashing light thingie is anymore.
I swear, I drive around town, I use my turn signals, although I wonder why. I can have my signal on to change lanes for hundreds of yards (if not longer on highways) and NOBODY will let you in the lane to get to the street or driveway you're trying to reach.
Or, my other favorites, the ones who see your turn signal and race up to make sure you can't change lanes.0 -
They don't use the signals anymore because the jerks see someone signaling to change lanes and will speed up to close the gap that the signaler was trying to get into.
It is better to not signal and just jump into the spot you want then to deal with the jerk speeding up to prevent you from merging.0 -
My wifey, who learned to drive in LA, calls her turn signal a "hole maker". She signals for a lane change, then changes lanes. The "hole maker" has never failed, but I'm gonna laugh my ass off when it does.
If I haven't mentioned it before, she's nuts.

I too always use my turn signals, and have the same crap happen to me all the time, but I still use them.
I also love when I am behind some 100 year old with their cataract glasses on,........not tailgating mind you, and they are doing 30 in a 50. I wait to see if they are going to speed up, they don't, so I signal, change lanes, and proceed to pass. THEN they decide to come up to the speed limit, and stare at you like you have done something wrong.
The main reason I carry in my vehicle, is because I can see the road rage, from South Florida, appearing up here, as more and more of them move here.
Hobby will like this one! I drive a Chevy Avalanche, and have the side bars, and a jungle bar on the front, along with a real big trailer hitch sticking out of my bumper.
Some time ago, I was stopped, at an intersection when I feel my truck kind of bump forward. Look in the mirror, and I can't even see the little lowrider that had bumped me. I set the brake, started out just in time to see this kid about 16, trying to unimpale his little cheeseball ride from my trailer ball.
He drives off down the road like a bat out of hell, with a big hole in his plastic front end trailing coolant behind him. My bumper, not a scratch![:D]
Bummer Dude.0 -
Add not stopping completely at stop signs to the list too. I have almost been rear ended 3 times when I stop completely at stop signs. I don't get these idiots.
I think I'll have to put my hitch ball on too.0 -
Watch your shins until you get used to it being there!
Don't believe I need to explain why (I) am mentioning that one![}:)]0 -
And don't forget that the first 5 vehicles get to go thru the red light. 0 -
Did you not know, most cars come without flashing thingies installed nowadays, and bmw and mercedes have removed them from standard configuration years ago. 0 -
Let's add high beams to the list. I suppose this is the "rural equivalent" of your turn-signal complaint. I notice that lots of folks can't figure out you DIM the lights when another car is approaching. Sad, because it is a simple courtesy that allows motorists to interact. Kind of like a salute. 0 -

A buddy of mine have to drive a goodly portion of interstate to and fro work, and was always grumbling about rude traffic. He commented once that the rudeness ceased when he got a bumper sticker that said "Happiness Is A Belt Fed weapon"[:)][:)] 0 -

Btw, what's up with people bombing through red lights in CO? Is that normal? I actually had someone honk at me for stopping on red - I think that one topped off douches tailgating semis on interstate.0 -

Unfortunately, yes, that's normal.
After Colorado was kalifornicated, we're stuck with the aftereffects.
You will get asspacked if you stop on a red and you aret the fourth car or less doing so.0 -

Sadly, that's what I hear.
Came across this the other day:

What I don't get is why in the world would self-identified kahlifawnias move to CO knowing they'll be in a wrong place in all respects...

I welcome that, I need a new bumper and a couple of blemishes fixed, so they can run into me all they want.0 -

What's the big surprise here? You are from "Kalifornia" and moved to Colorado! Do you even realize what you write sometimes? [B)] I'd be willing to bet you truly would welcome that. [:0][;)]

I'm not from Kalifornia. Well, I am, but I've not been there since I was just shy of one year old.0 -

Just as long as they stay out of the Buckeye state0 -
Boston has had nightmare traffic for AT LEAST 40 years.
But the lobsters make it worth the fight !

Maybe people who don't use their turn signals are just technology challenged. I mean really, when the lever on the side of the steering column had just ONE function (to activate turn signals) everybody was using them. (Well, almost everybody)
Now days, with that same lever activating the windshield wiper, low, medium, and high speed, as well as several intermittent speeds. Trying to figure out which speed will work best while driving through a particular deluge is a stretch of intelligence for some.
Then add the windshield washer to that, having to actually "hold it down" until water comes out. All the while hoping that the three wipes will be enough to get the bird p**p off the windshield without having to repeat this task. Hoping that "it" hasn't dried TOO hard yet. For "some" this can be strenuous as well as irritating.
On top of all that, it activates the high beams. Which you are "supposed to" remember to turn OFF when another car is approaching. All this while driving, and you expect them to remember to use this very same lever for actually activating the TURN SIGNALS???
I see some that turn on the 4 way flasher, and make you guess which way they are going.0 -
On the Chevy and the Jeep, it is a turn signal and a high beam/low beam thing. There is a second stick for windshield wiper functions on both vehicles. 0 -
I use them,
I don't know if anyone actually pays attention to them.0 -
pickenup, that's definitely true. The whole object of driving requires some basic coordination which is extremely hard to achieve while being blond talking on a phone. 0 -

I think I know what your talking about ... that lever on the side of the steering wheel that makes your lightz brighter? When I move it up or down it makes a ticking sound?
