BW, you can take this one from me. I've owned many 1911's, and by far the best out there are the Dan Wesson Patriot model, (best for the price, I'd say the pointman model which is better priced is as good a quality), and the kimber. In the kimber, I'd reccomend the basick custom 2, TLE. Its somewhat better priced than the other kimbers, and a very nice, and accurate handgun. What I really like about both of them ( I own a custom 2 TLE, and a Dan Wesson patriot, as well as a colt gold cup) Both the kimber, and DW retain accuracy after several rounds fired through them.

Many kimbers do have the bells and whistles. Thats what I like about the plain custom 2 TLE. No bells, no whistles, just one damn fine 1911. I have a #1 ruger, I'd say the #3's are as accurate.

Im used to being under budget with gun money. Now we only have one gun shop within a 40 Mile radious of us, and they want to make a days wages on one sale and I get 10% off. And he seldom has anything I am looking for at the moment. Im glad we have GB.
