Opinions Please ( also posted in ATE)
I may have an porotunity to buy this Ruger pj97dc with 220 rounds ammo, soft carry case, holster and such for $350. It is most definatly used but in the pictures (that is the only way I have seen it so far) but does not look abused.
My blue book shows NIB $460, 80% - $215
Should I jump on it or try to talk them down more? They have allready admited they need the money. I found it as a private party sale on the net and would most definatly need to run the numbers on the gun to make sure it is not stolen as I do not know the people.
It would be a local sale and if I did this I do not know if I would buy it to keep but maybe to trade for something else or sell.

Thanks for the help!

I'm thinking $300 would be a great deal. $350 is market value. If you are looking for a Ruger (they are nice hand guns) at $350 , I don't think you are getting ripped off. Just my opinion for what its worth (note in my state prices are a bit higher then elsewhere). 0 -
there is over $50 worth of ammo and then with the rug and holster figured in you're getting the gun for about $275,
I might try talking him down just a little but even at 350 its a good deal , you can always shoot up the ammo and them resale the gun and get most of your money back0 -
Try to talk them down the $300. I like Ruger pistols, and have owned several. You will get differing opinions on them though. If I couldn't talk him down and really wanted it, I would probably give him $350. 0 -
I can't understand why anybody would "really" want it.

Kevin, You are too good of a person to take advantage of some one when they are down. They need the money, but you do not need to steal it. If you can get it for $300 it would be a good deal for the both of you, but $325 really isn't that bad. 0 -
Why do you want that one when you have a half dozen single stach .45 RIA?
Just playing, I know you dont need a reason[:o)]0 -
i think $325 would be a good price 0 -

Well that is the whole thing.
I don't really need it and don't know if I really want it.
This person contacted me because I took out one of those ads that we were all jokeing about a while back about the unwanted guns. I found out that the ad really does work as I have been contacted a couple times but the others were way out of line on prices even after I quoted blue book price to them.
This one seems like they will come down to a reasonable price range but I would want it down to were I could possibly make a little or get a good trade for it as I have all my 1911's that I am more than happy with.
I'll think about it tonight and contact them again tomarow to see what transpires0 -
Actually its a P-97 .45acp and its got a very good reputation for durability and reliability and their built like a horse. Good Luck!! 0
