1 day until Graduation

After 5 long years in college I finally Graduate on Saturday morning with a Business Management degree.... now if I could just find a job....

    Congrats! My graduation ceremony (I actually finished my MBA in August) is Saturday, also. I think I know exactly how you feel about it.

    As far as your job, well, be persistent, be patient, make sure you've got a network of friends who will put you in touch with people -- even those that aren't hiring, because everyone knows someone else, and eventually, you'll find someone who is hiring.

    80% of the jobs out there are not advertised. You actually have to find them.

    ladams - what type of work do you plan on doing (or want to do)? Like spaniel said a lot of jobs out there are not advertised. If you have a type of work in mind, visit the websites of prospective companies and send them your resume. Also, go to job fairs and meet people. Not just the companies that are hiring, but other people who are interviewing. Make some friends. Hopefully if one of them get hired, they will remember you and try to get you in too. This also works the other way too. If you are fortunate enough to land a job and there are other openings, try to help out someone else. You never know when it will help you in the long run.

    Congrats. Took me 6 years to get BS. Got my MBA in much less time. Probably because I was more mature and knew what I wanted.

    Job fairs are almost completely useless as far as finding an employer. However, it is a great place to meet people and network.
