Imus
Who here believes that if Imus would have said what he did this week he would still have a job.

He could say whatever he wanted to all this week and he would have gotten a raise at the same time if he mentioned hating the nim-rod shooter and showing pity for the vicitms. 0 -

If you look at all the poll on the web, the majority of Americans do NOT think he should have been canned. Some are 88% stay vs a low 12% canned.
Isn't it odd, it's ok to burn the American Flag but it's not ok to utilize words in freedom of speech - both covered by the 1st Amendment of our constitution.
PS: I think the flag burners should be burned! [;)]
The flag burning paradox.... Hundreds of thousands died that if we choose we could do just that, burn the flag. And yet doing so is possibly the worst dishonor that you can possibly commit against those same men!!!0 -
Imus could be a rude dude but he made fun of everyone, to be fired for what he said was simply a PC event. The media lives for this type of PC crap and blew it up into a two week media show.
They have no credibility in my opinion, they also drove the media circus when the Duke lacross players were put into jail. Another big PC media event, that blew up in their faces.0 -
He is in show business and should know that timing is everything... 0 -
You aren't showing dishonor to our service men by burning a flag, just the opposite!
That you CAN burn the flag is what this country is all about. Some of you just don't see the big picture about this.
But, just because you CAN do something, doesn't mean you should. But you should have the right to do so.
Merc (who has never burned a flag......but is glad he is able to do so, if he wished.....)0 -
Here is a thoughtful article on Imus, pop culture, and rap music from Rolling Stone.

Sample sentence:
"The idea that NBC -- the company that proudly produced 241 episodes of Baywatch, a show whose two main characters for nearly a decade were Pamela Anderson's tits -- was "offended" by the use of the word "ho" is beyond preposterous."0
