On Tuesday, May 8, Governor Brian Schweitzer (D) signed Senate Bill 309, "Emergency Powers" legislation, sponsored by Senator Joe Balyeat (R-34). SB309 will prohibit the confiscation of firearms during a declared state of emergency such as occurred following Hurricane Katrina.

Good deal. Probably redundant anyway. There is quite a different mindset in Montana than in New Orleans.
