Anyone own a Zippo?
Or think they do? I used to live in Bradford, PA. Zippo was one of the largest employers in that small town, back in the 60s. They just laid off 129 employees due to Chinese counterfeit's. Another American icon falters. Story attached.

I have a Zippo that is engraved with a portrait of George Wallace. I have had it for over 20 years, I bet it wasn't made in China.
My buddies Greg, David, Phil and Ronnie all joined the Marines in 1967 and 1968 and went to 'Nam. They loved their Zippos over there.
When they got back, their favorite trick was to smoke the butt of a joint by clipping it into the place where the lid of the Zippo closed onto the body of the lighter. Could smoke it right down to ashes that way.
It made me as high from inhaling the lighter fluid fumes as it did from the smoke, but the the 'Nam vets didn't seem to mind.
Come to think of it, when you see the films of grunts burning the hooches of the Vietnamese, they were using Zippos.0
