How to clean grips?
How should I clean my cocobolo grips? Take them off and scrub them with a brush and soapy water? There not brown anymore there almost black, and brushing them off alone no longer works.

I touch mine up using "Old English Oil", the red oil kind. 0 -
Cocobolo will turn black over time, from ozidation and absorbing oils from your hands, unless coated with something to prevent this. You might possibly get the original color back by lightly sanding/steel wool, and keep it by applying polyurethane(sp). 0 -
That wont work I cant go to that much trouble as much as I shoot, besides I would manage to ruin them. Ive already got a new pair of pachmyer grips on it now, that diamond checkering is hard on the hands. The little diamond checkering feels almost like their sharp. I would like to clean them before I put them up. Are they not pretty expensive grips?? 0
