computer question
When you are doing nothing at all with the computer but you see the processor and hard drive are getting a workout, how can you find out what is running and who is running it?

My server catches 99.99% of anything bad but I have a pop up in the center of my screen that say "theres a newer version availible you must down load to continue. Then at the bottom it says yes on the left and whats new on the right. It does not stop me from using the computer but when I go home it pops right back up. Thinking my 44 mag would stop it! Getting more pissed every time I turn the computer on.

I'm looking to create a RAID 1 mirror array in my desktop; but when do I load the operating system into the hard drive, before or after I create they array?
Do both hard drives have to be the same size?0 -
I use my lcd tv as a monitor when watching movies on the computer. For some reason it quit working. I have here sound but not video. what would cause this to happen. also the built in mouse pad quit working i had to switch over to a usb mouse but the tv still worked as a monitor after the mouse quit woring. Just stopped today when i tried putting a movie on for my wife. 0 -
Someone gave me a laptop that has windows vista on it. Problem is the person that put vista on it didn't have the code and of course it shut down after 30 days. I can get into safe mode. What would it take to put a legal vista on it? If I can repair it my grand son will get it. 0 -
I need to a run diagnostics on my computer...In the book it says to open up Pc Doctor to do this...My problem is that it came with windows 2000 in it and has been upgraded to Xp pro... Tried to open Pc Doctor and it doesn't exit..Does Xp pro call it something else??? 0 -
Is there any way to see and view what has been printed from the internet or from the computer recently?

Wife and I are the administrators on the computer. The kids have limited accounts. One of the kids has found a way to make their "My Documents" folder invisible to us.
We can still navigate to the folder by rooting around in the C drive so it is no big deal but I am baffled as to why it won't show up for me,I can't get it to show up under "My Computer" with the rest of the "My Documents" folders.
All the accounts are set to show ALL files. Any ideas?

TT Pro is a terminal emulator, for communications on a computer. It won't hurt your comp to delete it, but some programs may stop running if they use the emulated terminals. I don't know of anything off the top of my head that does though. 0 -

OK tavis that worked fine, tera term pro is gone.
See, my girlfriend got this old used computer from work. In its day, it was a $2K laptop.
So, there are a bunch of business programs on here that I have no use for.
Now, on the desktop, under "Manuals" there are about 6 folders. One is named "6100."
I opened that and there are:
Alltel software upgrade
GAItronics config upload
6100 v1-2 Reference
Can I dump all of these?
And, there are 5 other Manuals:
Cruncher
FlexT1
microflex
Universal CD artwork
Universal CD contacts
Can I dump all of these manuals?0
