A Question for the Mauser experts.....
I recently just won my first auction here on GB, and will be receiving my rifle next week. I was wondering what the best stripper clip is to get for the 8mm ammo? I have seen original ones, brass ones, steel ones, even two piece ones. Also I was wondering what ammo is considered corrosive and what is not? Is corrosive ammo ok if you clean your gun more often? Is this auction a good deal?

Corrosive ammunition is fine if you clean the rifle immediately after shooting is done for the day. That auction is at $0.19/per round, while new production Wolf runs $0.60 per round. If you don't mind the cleaning it seems like an ok deal to me.
Good luck0 -
Why even bother/hassle with the strippers? Pop the rounds into your mag one at a time with your thumb.
The strippers are only useful in a combat situation, to reduce fumbling with loose rounds.
Ref the corrosive issue, What's corrosive is a salt in the primer compound. The answer to preventing corrosion after using this type of primer is to flush the inside of barrel and bolt face with water (hot preferably) and than clean/oil as normal. No special chemicals or voodoo rituals required0 -
aimsurplus has it for cheaper,
I also dont bother with the stripper (clips that is)0 -
Save the clips for the shtf situation.
Just load the cartridges one at a time, as the other guys said.0
