    Electric here Zip, but we tipicly only need heat a few days per year, and even then only on chilly mornings. My wife and i live in West Palm Beach Florida,tho we will be moving to central Tennessee in the next 12-18 Months. I will prob. be burning lo-sulpher coal up there,(If allowed) since their is a "seam" on the property.[:D]

    Mostly heat pumps around here Zip, with a percentage of Natural Gas.
    Quite a bit colder up here than Jeffs neck of the woods,......which used to be my "old" neck of the woods![:D]
    I have stayed totally electric myself with heat pumps, and all other appliances.

    We have oil. (Mountains of NY). Hot water return baseboard heat registers.

    My preference, if it were available, would be natural gas piped in from a gas main. Eliminates the problems of a dry tank, or delivery problems in the snow. Best, Joe

    wood stove in the living quarters, coal furnacs in the basement, heat pump as a last resort

    Maple and oak with LP gas backup.

    Gets real cold in northern Michigan. Price of just gas would be way over the cost of a pile of wood.

    I use oil and propane fireplace.I hope with the rise in the prise in
    oil the alternative fuels now become viable so we can start to use them.I would rather spend my hard earned cash on U.S fuel than some
    middle east skiek.What's everybody's thoughts here?

    Since the vast majority of our imported crude comes from Canada, Mexico, Venezuela, and Nigeria, those shieks won't give a damn if you are toasty warm inside your house or freezeing your a$$ off.

    We use natural gas for heating.

    Propane...clean buring and heats much faster....besides...best option for where I live.

    Miss my natural gas though!

    Wood with a gas backup, which hopefully will be replaced by solar next year.

    Wood with oil backup. I can cut all the wood I want up at my neighbor's a half mile away. Haven't bought any oil since Mar. 2005. Still have 80-100 gallons in a 300 gallon tank.

    Above 40 degrees, I use LP.
    In cold weather I use the wood stove. I have big stacks of dried locust, that is the best firewood I have ever seen.
