Just a little plug for Dave Smith dodge dealer in Idaho. If any one is looking for a new car give these guys a call. I was looking at buying a new Dodge maga cab the other day at my local bend you over dodge dealer. They quoted me their BEST price. I called Dave Smith and I after a 145.00 plane ticket from denver to Spokane WA I will save a little over $8500.00 and 6500.00 over the best deal i could find in Denver. The are going to pick me up at the airport and take me to the dealership. Saleman get a flat rate per car they sale so they are there to help you not themselfs. That is what I call service. Atleast give them a try it will keep your dealer honest.

    Very popular and I hear lots of good things about them. See lots of Dave Smith paper license plates around here, and we're almost 450 miles away.

    I wish they werent so far off!

    I'm looking at a new RAM 3500 Cab and Chassis.

    I'd have to drive 2,335 miles to get back home! Although, it would be worth it if I could get a deal like that. I'm going to give them a call tomorrow and see what kind of price I can get.

    The trip will cost you a minimum of $2-3000 alone...

    Dave Smith is very well known though.

    I have bought 3 trucks from Dave Smith and have absolutely loved every experience I've had with them. The wife and I have vowed that any car/truck we will ever have to buy brand new will be from Dave Smith.

    I too am a very strong advocate for Dave Smith Motors[^]. If you are in the market for a new Dodge, Chrysler, or GM product, it is well worth your time to contact them via their internet website. When I went to buy my Ram 3500 (single-wheel) SLT Quad-Cab 4x4 CTD back in December of 2004, the best price I could get in western Washington was $42,100 (fully loaded with the Big Horn package). Dave Smith Motors sold me the truck for $34,536.00 out the door[:0][^][:p], and they will reimburse the first $250 of your plane ticket to get there.

    ECC... it does not cost anywhere near $2-3K for a 2,335 mile trip. To give you an example, I travel to Cody, WY for the June WACA gunshow... it is 980 miles one-way, I stay for 9-days, and it is a 2-day trip each direction.

    10 days in a motel @$60/day ($600)
    Fuel burned is about 115 gallons @$3.00 per gallon (I average 21 mpg and about 2400 total miles for the trip) = $345
    Meals average of $35 per day = $420
    Grand total = $1365, and that is for 12-days.

    If I were travelling 2335 miles home after buying a new truck, it would be a 3-day trip.

    3-days @$60/day = $180
    Fuel for 2335 miles @21 mpg = $334
    Meals for 3-days on the road = $110 (approx.)
    Grand total = $625

    It cost me quite a bit more, but I was only averaging 9 mpg pulling my trailer. We also drove over 3000 miles. It tooks us 6 days to get here with a one day layover for a repair. Food, Lodging, Fuel, and Tolls ran us over 2 grand.

    The best part of their program is the total lack of B.S. from start to finish, and of course the free hot dogs and hamburgers.

    He told me they trucks were on build out and they have all they are going to get. I better get going!


    Question: Will I pay Idaho state tax or bring the truck home and pay WV tax when I get the license?

    Congrats on the sweet deal[^].

    When I bought my Ram 3500, I paid the Washington sales tax in Idaho (but Washington and Idaho share a border). If I were in your shoes, I would ask your salesman at Dave Smith.

    You should stop by for a visit if you have the time...We are not even an hour from Dave Smith...

    BTW...you will have to pay WV sales tax when you register the truck in WV. We just moved out here from WV...

    My parents live in Georgia. They bought a truck in North Carolina. They did not have to pay NC sales tax. When they bought their Ga. plates, they had to pay Ga. tax.
