Just came across this article pros and cons of leaving Iraq. Pretty good read.

Weird. It didn't give me any grief the first time I read it but now it's giving me the same garbage about needing to subscribe.
The gist of it was that Bush' comparison of Iraq to Vietnam was idiotic since the two places are nowhere near the same.
The good news, he said, was that when Vietnam fell, the dire consequences envisioned never took place in Southeast Asia. The bad news, however, is that the consequences envisioned should we leave Iraq are not dire enough.
An Iraq exit would leave the area dangerously unstable and open to interference from Iran, Russia, or China. And since the Arab states that are tolerant or friendly to us couldn't organize an orgy in a brothel, Syria and Iran would be left to do as they pleased.0 -
Chaos would ensue, in other words.
Well, hate to tell ya, but chaos is ensuing right now.
Iran is already reaping the benefits and in this zero-sum game, the more we spend in Iraq in terms of blood and treasury is just that much the other side gains.0 -
The Iraqi Sunnis and Shiites have hated each other for 1,300 years.
We can stay in this country for ten more years, and lose 10,000 more young soldiers, and the Sunnis and Shiites will still hate each other.
We cannot win their civil war. Time to get out is now.0
