blocked sewer vents
what can happen if you sewer vent is blocked. we just got hit when a crapload of snow and the radio and tv keep telling people to check they sewer vents on the roofs to make sure there not blocked. i have over a foot of snow on my roof and up to three feet in some places but i cant see were the sewer vent is.

If there are any small leaks in your vent inside the house you'll soon notice. Otherwise not a whole lot of issues. Unless nearly everyone in town's vent is blocked. 0 -
sewer line stink will come in your home. the trap (elbow) is suppose to keep it out, but if it builds pressure, youll see a bubble in your toilet and then the stink will hit you. like f-arting underwater.[xx(] 0 -

The roof stack prevents a draining pipe from pulling water out of the trap. The trapped water keeps sewer gas and smell out of the house. When vent stacks get blocked, all the water gets siphoned out of the trap when you flush or drain a sink or tub. If the vent stacks get covered, pull snow off. If you can't get to them, pour a half cup of water in each drain (sink, tub) after draining or flushing anything. Then move South at the first opportunity- it was 67 degrees here in VA today. 0 -

Yes you must move to the land of the palm trees, so that your vents cannot get clogged.
Or, an easier solution would be, when the weather gets warm, to put extensions on your vent pipes.0
