    It really depends on the mineral content in the soil of your hunting area. If it is poor, the deer will flock to mineral supplements like Deer Cane. If it is good, they won't. That is why it works for some people but not for others.

    Excellent info. I use corn too. Just trying to give the herd a lil variety. I also put out those apple food block's too. I basically have a buffet at each of my feeding spot's. Corn, food block's, and now the Deer Cane.

    I find that I need to fill the holes the deer dig every couple of years. I had one that got 8' across and 18" deep in the middle. This is in an area that has good pasture land and crops so minerals aren't really short. We also see holes licked out where the cattle mineral/salt feeders get spilled but the Deer Cane holes get huge. We can't bait with grain but supplements are OK.
