Verizon cell phone hell today
Mike has a brand new phone, and two days ago, all of a sudden, cannot use it unless there is a full charge on it, otherwise it is useless. Went to the Verizon dealer, and go a new phone.
My phone, which I have had for at least a year, and Mike's son's phone, which was purchased as recently as last month as a birthday present, have both suddenly crapped out, the message saying, "No signal."
Now, keep in mind, I have used my phone daily in this area with no problems. Called Verizon, on Mike's phone and they blamed it on a problem with the service area (as we are in a rural area). Reminded the Verizon rep that we are talking to him right now on a Verizon phone.
Spent close to an hour at the place of purchase, having them reprogram the son's phone.
Mike and I are both beyond angry and frustrated with Verizon, as it seems like an awfully wild coincidence that three phones would suddenly not work, and can't help but wonder if this sudden deficiencey in service has anything to do with the holiday shopping season.
Maybe it's something local. I was just wondering if anyone else out there was randomly having trouble with their Verizon cellular service.

okay, maybe a little...0 -
There is a tower down in your area, and either they don't want to admit it, or are too stupid to realize it,........the reps that is.
All of them have this happen.
Wait a few days, and then raise hell.0 -
Batteries have to be replaced every year or so. They are expensive enough that they should be figured in on the monthly cost of the phone. That may be the problem on your phone. 0 -

They wanted 65 bucks for my Nokia. What they wanted was to sell me a new PLAN.
Hold your ground, insist on keeping your old (cheaper) plan and make them give you a new phone. OR, change service.

i should type out a transcript of my conversation with a verizon rep about a year ago whom i had been a customer for near 14 years....anyways to make a long story short ended up with me telling them to shove it all up their azz....switched to alltel the next morning
verizon BLOWS0 -
Believe it or not,..........Verizon is one of the highest rated cell companies out there.
They all suck in customer service, is what it comes down to.
I am on Nextel,.........Sprint!0 -

Truly, which is why I figured why bother switching? They are all structured to screw the consumer in one way or another sooner or later...0 -
We have Verizon, and when other phones dont work in our area ours do. When at the Range people with Nextel and other carriers use my phone to call out.. Strange how the different areas work.. 0 -
I used to talk with someone (on my landline) that had verizon and it
would drop the call about every 2min...or more. Supposedly had something to do with a small airport she had nearby..<shrug>0 -

I buy my cell phone batteries on ebay. Shipping and all is only about $5.00 per battery. I have to get one about once every two years.0 -

no....which would be an excellent explaination, but why all 3 phones, purchased at different times, going stupid all of a sudden this same weekend? One of which I have been using just fine for a good year? One of which was purchased less than a month ago, another of which was purchased less than 2 weeks ago?0 -

Updating or "Flashing" the phone just updates the software inside the phone. If something changed with the tower or the carrier it would affect all the phones at the same time.0 -
RCRXS - It was hit on above, almost certainly - either you have a cell site near you that is down, or they may have erected another sell site nearby (possibly a competitor) that is interfering. Use your landline to pitch a bitch. Squeaky wheel...
Verizon has the best coverage overall. Yes their Customer Service is major sucky.0 -
The words "customer service" should NEVER be used when referring to Verizon.
They gots none.

I get my stuff from www.cellphoneshop.net
They have cell phone stuff, Ipod, MP3, Laptop, camera and it is low priced. The cell phone battery I got is NOT OEM but it works OK, I think it may not last as long as the OEM one did when it was new but it was a LOT cheaper.0
